"Liss Men’s Shed’s Beginner Woodworking course was run by Danny - a fantastic teacher who has an infectious passion for all things woodworking. He and his assistant Alan were very generous with their time, patient and knowledgeable.
The course covered basic woodworking joints and we were taught from first principles including the safe and correct use of tools (tenon saw, vice, bench hook, marking gauge, chisels, sharpening stone, plane, hammer), workshop etiquette (e.g. tidy bench, correct tool handling/storage, clean down), and other essentials such as use of geometry in woodworking, types of timber and selection for different uses in carpentry and joinery, placement and correct choice of nails/pins, chamfered and beveled edges, hanging doors with leading edges, etc.
I really enjoyed the course and would thoroughly recommend it."
